GROWTH

The title of the first sermon I preached at the S C Conference of FWB [held at Cherryvale Church, Sumter, SC] was “Who will come help me shovel manure?” where I talked about being willing to deal with the problems that come with growth. The text scripture for that sermon was part of my devotional reading today

NEED MET

DECEMBER. Christmas prep, car insurance due, house insurance due, and so on. Lovely Princess Paula looked at me and asked what we were going to do? I reached for her hand and said, “Let’s Pray”. The moment I said, “Amen” the mailman knocked at my door (Family member mailed a package to me for safekeeping) and handed me my mail. The card said, “Thinking of you” and contained a check that met several needs- God is Good, even in DECEMBER!

CONTROLLING PROBLEM

Never forget that the text for Jesus’ first sermon was: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, TO PREACH DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES, and recovering of sight to the blind, TO SET AT LIBERTY THEM THAT ARE BRUISED, (Luke 4:18).
